Early in our time together, my coach tasked me with creating a list of things I’m passionate about in my business. It was a pretty long list. Next, he asked me to print it out and keep it close by. I narrowed the list down to some of my core life values, and hung it up in my closet where I see it every morning as I prepare for the day ahead. These values are my heart — they form the core of who we are at Rhema Design Co.
These values impact everything I do at Rhema Design Co — from the way I conduct business to the way I move about in this world. I take on clients for these reasons, and I’ve ended client relationships for these reasons. Therefore, this list is pretty important to me.
I shared these values earlier this year, but it seems like a good time to do it again as we close out the first month of the second quarter.
In the day to day of life, it can be easy to stop, slow down, and recognize beauty. We aim to slow down more often, and to bring beauty into the world by partnering with our clients.
Working with people simply out for their own good holds no appeal to me. I thrive working in partnerships with people who are bringing good into the world. I want to work with people with a sense of greater purpose. From the very beginning, this was my heart behind starting Rhema Design Co.
I’ve been fortunate to know some really good, kind people. They’ve spoiled me, and I no longer want to work with anyone else. I become friends with most of the people I work with. They’re good, good people and it’s an honor to know them.
I believe we are all divinely creatures. Just like it can be easy to forget to slow down and see the beauty around us, it can be easy to not see the beauty within us. This requires that I operate in love.
From the very beginning, I knew I needed community. I’ve continued to pursue that, and anticipate on that pursuit the rest of my days. We are better together.
These five values make up my heart. Do you have values that reflect how you operate?
